Canadian author Sigmund Brouwer visited St. Augustine school on Tuesday, February 10 as part of our literacy day. Using Rock and Roll as the back drop, Mr. Brouwer challenged us to create stories that would hook and amaze our readers and reminded us that the bigger the problem a character faces, the more compelling a story it creates. Students from FDK to grade 8 were dazzled by the excellent show presented by Mr. Brouwer and many were motivated to start writing right away. Mr. Brouwer had nothing but good things to say about the behaviour and response from our students. He enjoyed being at St. Augustine as much as we enjoyed having him. Be sure to look out for lots of new titles by Sigmund Brouwer in the Library Learning Commons.
